EABV is diligently working to build Village Memory Boxes for families in our community who have experienced a perinatal loss. These boxes are a way to connect with the family, provide memory-making options, and let them know that they are not alone during such a difficult time.
Each custom-made, wooden box, crafted by Van Nostrand Cabinets, contains items donated by local businesses. Among the items placed in the box is a hand made quilt. Thanks to Brooke's Treehouse, a local children's clothing company, and Stitch Therapy, a local sewing shop, we have plenty of fabric to work with!
We need crafty volunteers to help cut fabric and experienced quilters to help sew quilts. If you have beginner's sewing skills, we have a job for you! Volunteers planning to sew are encouraged to bring their own supplies (sewing machines, scissors, rotary cutters, mats, rulers, etc.). The more supplies the better! Or if you prefer to work on your stitches another time, we'll have kits and instructions ready for you to take home.
Thank you for wrapping your arms around these families. Join us on October 29th, at 9 am at the AUMC Annex, 220 E Magnolia Ave, Auburn, AL 36830. A sign up button can be found below!
